Matt24:28 is coming to mind as I read the above, not exactly sure why....... "For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together." Any thoughts? n. In response to the disciples question, "What will be the sign of your coming?" (Matt. 24:3) Jesus said that the signs of His 2nd coming are Like the lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. Wherever there is a carcass, there the vultures will gather.
Jesus explains that His 2nd coming will be Obvious as lightning very visible can be seeing with the naked eyes when He comes with thousands of His Saints.... just like the gathering of vultures around a carcass... high above in the sky... people can see the vultures up in the sky miles away.
Jude 14 Enoch, the 7th from Adam prophesied these men: who have taken their own way of Cain; they have rushed for profit into Balaam's error, they have been destroyed in Korah's rebellion.....
.... See, the Lord is coming with thousands upon thousands of his Holy ones to judge everyone, and to convict all the ungodly of all the ungodly acts they have done in the ungodly ways, and of all the harsh words ungodly sinners have spoken against him.... These men are grumblers, fault finders, they follow their own evil desires...

These men are grumblers, fault finders, they follow their own evil desires...Yes, its good to consider when Christ will return. Will he find faith on the earth - individuals with an intimate relationship with himself? Jude wrote of people amongst the Christians who would "deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord" and "shepherds who feed only themselves". People who would find fault with others who they don't understand, boast about themselves and flatter others for their own advantage. Its not unlike what happened amongst the Children of Israel: Jer 5:30 "A horrible and shocking thing has happened in the land: The prophets prophesy lies, the priests rule by their own authority, and my people love it this way. But what will you do in the end? Thanks Nathan, for bringing up the writings of Jude. I'll post it here, it makes an interesting study: Jude verses 3-16 Dear friends, although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt I had to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to the saints. For certain men whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are godless men, who change the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord. Though you already know all this, I want to remind you that the Lord delivered his people out of Egypt, but later destroyed those who did not believe. And the angels who did not keep their positions of authority but abandoned their own home—these he has kept in darkness, bound with everlasting chains for judgment on the great Day. In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire. In the very same way, these dreamers pollute their own bodies, reject authority and slander celestial beings. But even the archangel Michael, when he was disputing with the devil about the body of Moses, did not dare to bring a slanderous accusation against him, but said, "The Lord rebuke you!" Yet these men speak abusively against whatever they do not understand; and what things they do understand by instinct, like unreasoning animals—these are the very things that destroy them. Woe to them! They have taken the way of Cain; they have rushed for profit into Balaam's error; they have been destroyed in Korah's rebellion. These men are blemishes at your love feasts, eating with you without the slightest qualm—shepherds who feed only themselves. They are clouds without rain, blown along by the wind; autumn trees, without fruit and uprooted—twice dead. They are wild waves of the sea, foaming up their shame; wandering stars, for whom blackest darkness has been reserved forever. Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men: "See, the Lord is coming with thousands upon thousands of his holy ones to judge everyone, and to convict all the ungodly of all the ungodly acts they have done in the ungodly way, and of all the harsh words ungodly sinners have spoken against him." These men are grumblers and faultfinders; they follow their own evil desires; they boast about themselves and flatter others for their own advantage.

From verse 4...They are godless men, who change the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord.
There are those who change the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ. While many literally leave Jesus right out of the equation, some may not deliberately deny Him, but their actions demonstrate a lack of understanding concerning God's grace.
Then there are those who change the grace of our God into a bondage to legalism. While they may not directly deny Christ, His work is undervalued in their effort to avoid the aforementioned extreme in Jude 4.
The book of Galatians and Romans have a lot to say concerning this very thing.

Am glad for your comments, Nathan, re: meeting Christ in the air whenHe comes again. In our Bible study this week Laurie told us about the time when out here in rural western Colorado her Dad had butchered some game and placed a carcase in the field. She told us that after that she was outside and looked up to find 12 bald eagles feeding on that carcase. It's a phenomonon really how that is. Suddenly those eagles were aware of it and came together to feed. An instinct really.
We look forward to the day when we will be drawn as like a magnet up to Christ when He returns. And if we have His Holy Spirit within us that is what is surely going to happen. I think too of us in the little churches feeding the on the Lamb that was slain...Lately I've been thinking of the verse from Heb. 10:23-25:"Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) :24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works; :25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much more as we see the day approaching. Sometimes I think we aren't aware of how important fellowship mtg. is. I know of someone who spoke of the meeting as a kind of self-help group. But the emblems are there and we are met to feed on the Lamb. We do one by one speak of our failures, victories, desires, and we could focus on that. Yet Christ asked us to meet and partake of the bread and the wine in remembrance of Him, which is the essence of the meeting. So even as the bride will be drawn up to Christ when He returns, I think those with His Spirit are drawn to meet with Him and His own to partake of the emblem of His broken body, and the emblem of the blood He shed for us most usually on Sunday morning.
I remember hearing at convention that Christ left us with 2 things that are doctrine taught by Him. Those 2 things are with thanks partaking of the bread and the wine, (to show His "death'til He comes); and baptism.I haven't always seen this so clearly but it is taking on importance more and more.n.
