Given a choice of having the perfect spirit, or the perfect doctrine, I think I would choose having the perfect spirit. What we think we know will pass away, and the truth will last forever and ever. We can never learn what truth is, unless we have the right spirit. Interesting. David said 'Renew in me a right spirit' Some people will argue over gnats.

We are justified by faith and the evidence of that living faith is the works that follow. Jesus Christ. No. Only He is perfect. Blessings, Linda Thank you for sharing, Selah.

Truthfully, I cannot say. Is it wrong to be justified by faith or by works? Who can justify us? Can we justify our own self? If not, then how is it that only God can be justified ? We are justified by faith alone by God alone. Do you need me to post the verses that state this?

If not, then how is it that only God can be justified ?[/ We are justified by faith alone by God alone. Do you need me to post the verses that state this? How can we contend with God? God alone is just, {right} and God alone is justified. God makes a wonderful provision, in order for us to be justified/right/just before Him. I cringe to think of how unworthy I am to stand before Our Just God, if it wasn't for Our Wonderful Saviour. Yes, I will retreat, perfect doctrine and law might help us ...as they are our school master, yet without being born again of His Nature {Spirit} we are hopeless, huh? I think we may have had some misunderstanding, though.

Let us address the Holy Spirit by the proper name and not just simply the spirit or a spirit or spirit. The Holy Spirit is deserving of our utmost respect.

Psalm 51:9-11
9 Hide your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquity.
10 Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
11 Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me.
I think Verse 10 speaks of a characterisitic - "steadfast spirit", while verse 11 speaks of God's Spirit - "Holy Spirit."
Blessings, Linda

We can never learn what truth is, unless we have the right spirit. Are you calling the Holy Spirit the perfect spirit, and then ask for the right spirit? You should have said the Holy Ghost in proper worship of the spirit.Doctrines can be useful in learning that we are wrong most of the time anyways.

David said, Create in me a clean heart, and renew a right spirit. This verse can mean many various things, I am not sure if you have the correct meaning.

What we think we know will pass away, Besides we can never have a perfect spirit, but we can have a perfect doctrine, right? Maybe you should start a new thread about what you believe, eh?

Oh, you forgot to capitalize a right spirit, we were always taught to capitalize having the right 'Spirit', and did you mean perfewct or perfect? Shouldn't perfect be capitalized to? It is far more respectful, in my so very humble opinion

I think David meant to renew a humble spirit .
I haven't read about renewing a steadfast spirit, so humble spirit seems more correct, in my so very humble opinion.
