Please use this thread for any input which you may feel will help this discussion board become a place of edification and peace.
I have changed the name of this board to "Standing True Discussion Board" because I feel this better explains the board for what it is.
I would hope that all would register with at least a first name. We should not be afraid of who we are and Who and what we stand for in this world. My name is here for all to see.
I need input from members of this board:
1) What are your thoughts on keeping certain Categories limited for posting to registered members only? This would help keep the anonymous "hit and run" posters from disturbing an edifying, peaceful Christ filled discussion.
2) No sharing of pictures, images, Friends Lists, Contact Information, Study Lists, Convention Schedules or Speakers Lists, Special Meeting Schedules, etc... This information is better shared securely via the StandingTrue Email List. We do not wish to have any TOS accusations here.
3) Pictures of members may be displayed in each member's icon space which appears on every post and on the member's profile.
4) Any other ideas will be appreciated and considered.
Thanks,
Blessed Peace in Christ,
Richard

Just curious as to why speaking lists, workers lists, etc. are not to be shared? My parents have been professing (and other family members ) fornearly 50 years...and I've never asked them..but I know they would give me a copy if I asked...but (and this is no disrespect, whatsoever, intended...but I just don't understand. What is to hide?

What is to hide? Mich My thought is that there is nothing to hide. Only to protect. Besides the Standing True group website is a really good place for that. If we start posting alot of the above mentioned here, that may take away from the "specialness" of the initial website. Some people are not as comfortable posting on a discussion board forum, and the initial website is meaningful to them--just as it remains for me. I really like it! Just my thought.........

Well put nancye, and much better than I seem to have done!
In allowing "exes and antis" free access to some of the lists and such that we share can only make their job of disruption and deception easier. It'd not so much that they do not wish to continue in or accept our faith in Jesus way but that they must use devices to try to put any doubt in the ones who Stand True.
I have spent many hours on the "anti" websites and even through 38 years in the truth can find or know of anyone who has seen the troubles in the truth these apostates claim. I have even had some points of misunderstanding recently with a couple of the sister workers but that is no reason to lose my eternity. We all make mistakes and say the wrong things at the wrong time... I will leave it at that!
When records and workers lists and such get into the hands of our enemies, they use this information against us as much as possible starting rumors and such about why some Worker was moved to another field or sent to another country without considering that this has been done his way since the beginning.
If a friends list should become available this could lead to letters of harassment.
All of these "exes" need our prayers. Many have become discouraged and resentful over a moot point, sometimes only as small as feeling left out and like they "don't fit in" and all because they cut their hair and wear a little makeup to meetings.
I would never advise or encourage a professing friend to visit these places. While I know that the Lord commanded us to "remain unspotted" from the world, most of us have a most difficult time of it without being challenged in your faith by others. While we must live and work in the world there are places that professing people should not go.
There some others here besides myself who visit the "worldly" boards and I pray for them as I pray for my own self when I do go there. Even apostate, they still need to keep hearing the Word and who knows maybe some hearts may be softened.
I will not abandon the StandingTrue email list and will always treasure the letters we get from the Workers in other lands. I have always known they had it difficult in many countries for Christ's sake but thrill at the hearing of a convert though I may never know him here on earth!
I also am reminded of how important a place we all have in praying for God's Servants who are also truly servants of God's people.Wishing all continued strength in Jesus Christ,
Richard

sorry, admin, but with all due respect, your entire post is pure elitism Thank you guest for your due respect but I do not ask for I to nor do I believe I warrant any respect other than my place as a follower of Christ and father to my child. While this board is dedicated to the professing people of the Lord's Way we follow, it has been left open for all to see and post to but for a small sanctuary of peace for ourselves. We only ask that all who post here refrain from negative attacks, unsubstantiated rumors, vulgar language, slander etc.
Any respectable message board will have certain rules that it seeks the posters to follow and many are restricted to members only. It is my belief that Jesus did not intend for His followers to hide themselves from the rest of the world but to go forth and live according to His word and proudly uphold Christ in your life each day wherever you may be.
This is the reason you may see my name here and not have to guess who I may be as I do for you. Guest posting will remain open here as long as the posts remain respectful to the rules of the discussion board.
It is my hope that professing people may be able to discuss and edify each other here. I hope also we may use this board for discussion of Scripture and help each other answer questions we may have about our service in Christ. As you read through these posts you will find where I have been enlightened here by others. I hope that my feeble attempts may help some other in the future.
We all share God's earth together: Christian, Jew, Muslim. We each believe what we are taught to believe or choose to believe when we are older and begin to seek. This board is open to all; professing, exes, antis, and seekers of all faiths.
Since I am responsible for the creation of this board (the inspiration was from another) I apologize for anything that I may have written in the administrative and welcome threads and also the header and footer of the boards. I had hoped to get across the idea that this discussion board was not only for professing people but also for anyone who wished to discuss Faith and Love of Christ and through Christ.Respectfully in Him,
Richard

Richard, I no longer attend the fellowship meetings, and therefore I would ask that you hold my posts to a higher standard in the areas listed above. I know I am a guest on your board, and I would like to thank you for allowing me to post. Please be pro-active if, at any time, my posts come into question. Thank you

Thanks, so much for your beautiful post, Richard. You're doing a marvelous job for keeping this message a wonderful place for all to share our thoughts, belief, understanding, etc..
Let us discuss different topics in a godly, resonable ways, without personal attacks! No names calling from hit-run, drive-by shooters anonymous posters, please. If this is your goal there are other message boards you can do that but please NOT on here. Thanks.
I have grown leaps and bounds spiritually from posting on different message boards for 10 yrs. Some Peoples' questions, and their answers have given me a better understanding on certain Scriptures, topics, etc...
Let's continue to keep this board a friendly place, this way others can come and feel free to ask questions, sharing their thoughts, belief so our faith can be strengthen and our LOVE for God will increase each day.

their job of . . . deception What deception, exactly? guest,
Hopefully you will never get your answer here! For a look at deceptions and other nefarious practices you will have to return to the other boards and read the posts as if you cared about Jesus Christ, weather you like the way we choose to serve Him or not.
Those of us who know Christ as we know Him see the deception as easily as you would if we attacked your fundamental beliefs with false information.
Paraphrasing or taking words out of context such as "their job of....deception" is a good start at fostering mistrust.
I will welcome your questions and posts concerning Jesus Christ and man's service to God through Him. This is an interesting place when the beam has been removed from your eye. With Christian Respect,
Richard

One thing that really bothers me. First, I started the Standing True List, I named it. Now I see you are using the name for this board. I feel you should find your own title. I am sorry, but this just don't add up with me. Yes, I am an "ex", but not a bitter one. I love all God's people. Please think about finding your own name for your group. Thanks.

Diane Richard, let us grant Diane's request... Let us pick a different name for this message board.
How about a New Title: Standing True for Jesus.
So the world will know who we are standing true for... We want to be true to our Lord God and Savior, Jesus Christ. Thanks, Richard.

Hi Nathan,
I don't mean this is a bad way. I am only an ex to a religion, not to God. I am standing true to God and that is all that counts. I am not welcome on the ST list, so I don't think anyone should use the name I chose. It is like writing a book and someone taking the name for themselves.
Hope you and your family are well. Alex and I are certainly rejoicing in the Lord. God is so good and I think Him every day for all He has done for me, and is still doing. It is so wonderful to rejoice in the Lord. Thanks Nathan and Happy Holidays to you and yours.
Luv, Diane

I object to changing the name of the board, or the email list.
There are no copyrights on such as this, and the fact that Diane (or anyone else for that matter) does not participate is irrelevant.
Lots of things are named by people who then move on leaving others to continue with what was started.
