1) I am moving my question< posted on 27th July< from the main Board here for a possible response, please. Here it is:
I have noticed that some posters on this board very often say that folks in the 2x2 fellowship regard other churches, that are outside of the 2x2 fellowship, as worldly false churches.
How does this reconcile with what is written in Matth 18:20 and in Mark 9:38-40?
~~ Mark 9:38 And John answered him, saying Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us; and we forbade him, because he followeth NOT us.
~~ Matthew 18:20 For where 2 or 3 are gathereed together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
~~~~ N9: Mark 9:39 I believe the man who cast out the devil in Jesus' name was one of Jesus disciples who wasn't numbered among the 12 apostles... According to the Luke 10:1,2 Jesus sent out 70 more apostles=sent ones just like 12 apostles on similiar mission in Matthew 10.
The 12 apostles were NOT the only whom Jesus had given power to cast out devils, perform miracles, etc... we read in the book of Acts 7,8,9 God had given the disciples Stephen, Philip, and Ananias power to work miracles NOT just the apostles.
~~~ Matthew 18:15-20.... Jesus speaking about a brother in Christ tresspass against another... how they should make it right with one another.. if problem is NOT solved then bring 2 or 3 witnesses so every word may be established... if problem did not resolved then bring it before the church!
If he refused to hear what the church has decided let him/her as the heathen and a publican... BUT if 2 or 3 come to an agreement with a godly result then it has the Father's approval and Jesus also.. because He is in their midst.
2) Also is Matth 12:30 and Mark 9:40 a contradiction?
Matthew 12:30 Jesus said, "He that is NOT with me is against me; and he that gathered NOT with me scattered abroad."
~~~ N9: In Jesus' days you are either with him or against Him... no neutral ground.
Mark 9:38-40 .... he followed NOT us; and we forbade him, because he followed not us. But Jesus said, Forbid him NOT; for there is no man who shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me. For he that is NOT against us is with us.
~~ It seemed this man was one of many followers of Jesus who hadn't been chosen as one of Jesus the first 12 apostles. In matthew 28 and in the book of Acts we read the apostles and disciples work side by side in spreading the goodnews to ALL nations! there were more disciples of Jesus than the few chosen apostles like 100 to 1. God need everyone to do their parts in spearding the gospel message.
