~~~ Nathan9: Amen! Brick... Jesus' primary mission was to die on Calvary's to save repented sinners from eternal no noation.
Miracles, healing, raised the dead, miracles were signs to the children of Israel He was the Messiah whom God had promised that when He came he'd show them with miracles as sign He was the Anointed One by God.... and His 12 and 70 apostles were sent by Him... so He granted them with power, miracles to show the children of Israel the Messiah has come and they are His true followers!
And now that the Messiah has come and gone there appears to be so much confusion in the christian world as to who are His true followers. Maybe if the pastors/workers etc still had those powers that were conferred on the original disciples everyone would know who are Jesus's true followers. The 'Only True Way' would be readily and clearly recognised by His followers.
~~~ Confusion is NOT of God but from men who tried to do the opposite than what Jesus lived, taught, and died for. God is NOT the author of confusion but Satan and disobedience men and women.
In Matthew 7:21-28 Jesus warned about those who preached in His name, performed miracles, doing good works but he said depart from me ye workers of iniquity. Why? because they built on Sand (men's ideas) found and NOT on the Rock (Jesus).
Jesus went on to say in Matthew 24:24 For there shall be false Christs, and false prophets and shall show signs, wonders, in somuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
II Thess. 2:3,4, 9-12 Satan performs miracles, lying wonders.... for this cause, God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a LIE! that they all might be no noed who believed NOT the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness...
Revelation 16:12-14 spirit of the devil working miracles...
Rev. 19:20 false prophets wrought miracles.. cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone.
2) As it is now we have all this confusion about false churches, faked pastors, saved by Grace, saved by Works and Grace, one can only be saved through a particular group of Ministers etc.
Who or what is it that causes all this confusion? Did Jesus come into the world, not only to redeem our souls, but to cause confusion? Rhetorical questions, of course.
Do you have the right answers? Let's have them, please.
~~~ Jesus said He is the way and the truth... Ask and it shall given you; Seek, and ye shall find; Knock, and it shall be open unto you. (Matthew 7:7)
Jesus said to Peter, "I will build MY Church! and the gates of Hell shall NOT prevail against it." (Matthew 16:18)
Jesus' truth, His Church, and way is still on the earth today... Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever.
3) Jesus spent much of His time on earth healing the sick; when He sent out His disciples He also instructed them to out and heal the sick and we don't see any such healing by the workers, they don't even try.
~~~ One of the reasons Jesus performed miracles was to prove to the Jews and children of Israel he was the Messiah! that God had promised in the Old Testament when He came He'd showed healing just like Moses! did when God sent himto be the chosen one of God. (Acts 3:20-23).
Jesus NEVER command, promise or give them the power to heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers when He sent the apostles and His disciples preaching the Gospel among the Gentiles. (Matthew 28:16-20)
4) Why are certain instructions followed 'to the letter of the law' and others ignored? I do not recall Jesus giving any instructions about meetings in the house, but that is a way of life in the 2x2 system. Pardon me if I am mistaken.
~~~ a) Healing, miracles, raised the dead, cleanse the lepers was promised as a sign the Messiah has come to the children of Israel!
b) Miracles, natural healing, raised the dead, cleanse the lepers were promised when the apostles preach and labor among the Gentiles nations.
5) Are you saying that Jesus' instructions were not meant for any apostles/workers to follow today? So what about the notion that Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever?
~~~ Yes, Matthew 10 and Luke 10 instructions were given to the 12 and apostles whom Jesus sent to the Lost Sheep House of Israel and the Jews.... accompanied with healing, cleanse the lepers, raised the dead, etc..
~~~ Do you know any 2x2 worker today or the past 100 yrs have cleansed the lepers, raised the dead, or heal anyone?
I read where Eddie Cooney in 1930's when he was a 2x2 worker tried to prove he could heal from reading Matthew 10. He and his companion held a meeting where many of the friends and different workers gathered together in New Zealand or Australia in trying to prove others he could heal a professing friend! and you know what Eddie FAILED! and he blamed the friend's in lacking of faith.
After that failed healing session! the friends and workers distance themselves from him.
God can heal... The workers can't heal with their own power if God doesn't give them the power to do so then they can't. God never promised the apostles with power to heal when they preached among the Gentiles nations.
About: Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever...
The free gift of Salvation from Christ has been offered in every generation in the same manner yesterday, today and forever.
