It is all so secretive.
If a person wished to make a contribution of several thousand dollars, is there a way to make it a tax deduction?
Why is the financial structure so secretive?

The finances of the workers a so secretive. No one will discuss how it works. I believed it was so simple, but I've learned it is not.
How does a person get a receipt for a tax deduction. Why? Because we need deductions.

~~~ Nathan: I was in the work for 8 yrs so what do you need to know? There is no secret about it or anything for us to hide. I have discussed about workers' finances on different message boards for years.
99% of the Workers in USA don't file income tax returned because the money they've been given by the friends is below 7,000 dollars a year so the IRS government have told the workers they don't need to filed any income taxes form.
The Overseers who entrusted with the friends' trust funds for the work of the ministry do pay taxes every year... the overseers appointed certain honest friends, or the church elders to pay taxes for the money which they possess yearly.
Here's John Evan, an overseer's testimony.
November 29, 1994
I am 84 years old and reside at houses belonging to various members of the same Christian Faith as myself. I am presently staying at XXXXXXX. I am a senior Minister of a fellowship that meet to various private homes throughout Victor and Tasmania. There are numbers of our group around the world.
In Victoria, we have about 40 ministers of the Gospel and about 2,500 members. These people meet every Sunday and on Wednesday evenings. At these meetings we sing Hymns, we have a prayer session and then a period when each person speaks of their experience or something that has appealed to them from the scripture. We follow the teachings of the New Testament given to us by the Lord Jesus.
I have been a member of this group for 70 years and my parents before me were members of the same group. I have been a "minister" since 1938 when I left home to do the work of an "Evangelist." The people of the same faith who give "Voluntary" donations have supported me since I became a minister. All the people who have "forsaken" their occupations and have gone forth to ministers this gospel are supported in the same way.
We have "NO" specific name as such and have "NEVER" had. There is no individual person who claim to be "founder" of our organization. We believe that this group has its origin in the mind of God before the foundation of the world and it was revealed in it's fullness in the coming of the Lord Jesus into this world and His teachings which we endeavor to follow today.
We are "NOT" a registered Church or body of any description. We are involved with the support of the Third World Organization, and we currently have over 20 ministers in foreign fields preaching, assisting and doing evangelistic work. These evangelists are sent overseas with funds raised through the group. Our organization is financially well off. The funds are controlled by a Trust Fund with the Trustees, who are elders of the Church. I am in charge of the Trustees and have the final say as to where the funds will be sent or spent. Once I make that decision, the Trustees withdraw the funds and give me a blank draft for the amount required in various area, as requested by me.
The Senior Ministers are usually appointed on the death or mentally impairment of the outgoing overseer. He is usually nominated by the outgoing ministers to the other Senior ministers in Australia and New Zealand and approached by them to take over.
In addition to our weekly meetings, we have been gathering on the property of Mr. xxxxxxx, for one of our annual Conventions for the past 20 years. We hold 5 conventions in Victoria each year. These conventions are held World Wide and all run along the same lines. The purpose of these conventions is to strengthen the faith of all who believe in the teachings of Jesus.
Our organization has "NO" restriction on music, dancing, televisions, sports, food or anything else for that matter. We do not exercise any authority over an individual faith. When sending a person (minister) overseas and they require an "Official document we use the letterhead of "Christian Conventions" underlined by "Representing Assemblies of Christians Assuming this name only."
~~~ Nathan: After I left the work I gave money to the workers, take them out to dinner, and I've NEVER claim for a tax deduction. I can but I don't do it.

Can a person list Christan conventions as the name of the church they are donating to? I'm not talking about taking out to dinner. I'm talking bigger donations.

What is a tax deduction, when referring to a donation? Why would someone want one? Is it a deduction from your total income, so that you pay less income related taxation? Is this like saying that you want someone else to pay some of the donation?
I'm not clear on this. I've never claimed any taxation reduction on donations to charities etc, but every country has different taxation laws.

This is up to the individual of the friend/s who donate bigger amount to the work ..... they should look up the IRS tax law if they want to claim tax deduction for the amount they give for the work.

Many people in USA claim Taxation rededuction on donations to charities, church organization to lower their taxes income so they pay less money to the government in April, 14 each yr.

Rather it is an edited version of the legal deposition that Jones wrote for the suicide case of Narelle and Stephen Henderson, who committed suicide rather than be forced to go to convention. If you're going to tell a story, at least get your facts straight, Mr. Barker.

Is it true then that a person wanting to claim a tax deduction is hoping that they can escape their obligations to the government (the people, the state) to subsidize their giving?

~~~ Nathan: As I wrote on the Truth Message Board... In court or NOT it is John Evan's testimony of what he knew and he was telling truth didn't he? Did he lie about anything in what he said before others?
Remember, there are two sides to every story. I believe there's more to the story here... Who in the world with a RIGHT mind take his/her own life for NOT wanting to attend conventions.
I know there are FRIENDS! in the third world countries who work ALL year long to save enough money so they can buy bus tickets to attend one convention. It takes one day bus ride to the convention one way.
Whatever respect I had for you, nathan, is now totally GONE! I can't believe you place the blame on those two children. You are sick!
Whatever respect I had for you, nathan, is now totally GONE! I can't believe you place the blame on those two children. You are sick! Like I said there are two sides to every story. Evan Jones testified before the court and he told them his side it didn't look like a Cult by what he said as some exes have blamed the 2x2 religion for their personal, mental problems.
Why don't you tell us what you know of the story and perhaps the workers or the friends who were involved story can give us a clearer picture of that family and what really happened.
