There seems to be a prevailing view within the fellowship that "if people could be saved without the 2x2 ministry then why would workers be doing what they do?" Would many workers leave the work if the Living Witness Doctrine was abandoned? History would suggest no. In the early days before the LWD became widely accepted, worker numbers were growing rapidly for a number of years. When they were focused on bringing people to Christ, and not feeling compelled to convince people that "our group is God's only way", they would have felt encouraged and driven as they saw Christ being formed in the people who were drawn to them.
