Several comments refuting the above
"37. HE IS DEAD TO AND FREED FROM SIN! Romans 6:2-7; Sin can no longer affect the saint’s destiny. He is freed from it."
You have many times over shown your complacency with sin as a "must do" for all people.
2 Timothy 2: 19 ".........And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ DEPART from iniquity.
Here are some verses to think it over about eternal security:
1). (Hebrews 3:12-19) Some feel strongly it was Paul wrote the letter to Hebrews Christians.
~~~ Take heed, brethen, lest there be in any of you and evil heart of Unbelief! in Departing from the living God. But exhort one another daily, while it is called Today; lest any of you be hardened through the deceifuless of SIN.
For we are made partakers of Christ, if we HOLD the beginning of our confidence steadfast unto THE END..
While it is said, "Today if you will hear His voice, harden NOT your hearts, as in the provocation. For some were, heard did provoke. Howbeit, not all that came out of Egypt by Moses. But with whom was God grieved 40 years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose bodies fell in the desert?
To whom did God swear he that they should NEVER enter into his rest, but to them that believe NOT? so we see that they could NOT enter because of "Unbelief".
~~~ Hebrews 6:4-6 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, and have tasted the goodness of the word , and the powers of the world to come, if they "shall FALL away", to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put HIM to an open shamed.
*** Paul encouraged these Hebrews Christians NOT to go back to animals sacrifices because they were No longer of any use, that the killing of a bull or a lamb could "Never take away sin". Those animals sacrifices had never been intended to be "forever"; they had been planned to be a sort of picture ("Type") of the coming sacrifice of Christ, and now that Christ had come, they had served their purpose. God's people "must look only Christ for Redemption and Salvation".
~~~ (Hebrews 10: 23-39) Let us hold FAST the profession of our faith without wavering... not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some are doing... for if we SIN wilfully after we HAVE received the knowledge of the truth (in Jesus), there remained no more sacrifices for sins.
But only certain fearful expectation of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the enemies. He that despiseth Moses' law died without mercy, under 2 or 3 witnesess. Of how much more Severely do you think a man deserved to be Punished, who has trampled understood the Son of God, and has treated the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an "Unholy thing", and had done insulted unto the Spirit of Grace?
*** The Lord shall judged His people! It is fearful thing to fall into the hands of the Living God.
Now the just shall live by faith if any man "Draw back", my soul shall have no pleasure in him. But we are not of them who "Draw Back unto destruction": but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.
10 verses from the Bible that prove otherwise
"But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway." - 1 Corinthians 9:27
"If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead. Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 3:11-14
"And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved." - Matthew 10:22
"But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved." - Matthew 24:13
"And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved." - Mark 13:13
"Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven." - Matthew 7:21
"Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him." - James 1:12
"For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them." - 2 Peter 2:20-21
"And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree; Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee. Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in. Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear: For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee. Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off. And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again." - Romans 11:17-23
(Galatians 6:1-10) Brethen if a man is caught in a sin, ye which are spiritual, "restore" such a one in the spirit of Gentleness, watch yourself, let thou also maybe tempted... be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that he shall also reaped. For he that please from that nature will reap destruction; but that please the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
(Ephesians 4:22-32) that ye "Put off" concering former manner of life the "Old Man", which is corrupt according to deceiful lusts; and that ye "Put On" the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness... let him stole steal no more...Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth...
~~~ And "Grieve NOT" the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of Redemption. Let all bitterness, rage, anger, slander speaking, be put away from you, with every form of malice: and be ye kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake has forgiven you.
(Colossians 1:22) If ye "Continue" in your faith "Grounded" and "Settled", and be NOT MOVED away from the hope of the gospel, which ye heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under the heaven; wherefore I Paul am made a minister.
(Colossians 2: Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit after the tradition of men, after the basic principles of the world, and NOT after Christ.
~~~ (I John 5: 16) If any man see his brother sin a which is not unto death, he shall pray, and he shall give him life for them that sin NOT unto death. There is A sin leads to death (sin against the Holy Spirit/ Unpardonable sin). I am saying that he shall not pray for it.
