Tonight is Friday night 19 October 2007. Georgetown Convention is half over. This is the time when I ask myself the question analogous to the water in the glass psych question.
[glow=red,2,300]Is the glass half full or is the glass or half empty?[/glow]
I feel if my glass is only half full because I know there are two more days of filling left. So much drink is yet to be offered to fill my glass and refresh me. I also sometimes feel as my glass is half empty because I am half empty inside. The Lord is with me. My child is with me. My wife is not. I do not know If I can ever convince her to return to us...
We have heard much of faith and miracles. God does expect our faith in Him and the message of forgiveness through the blood of Jesus Christ. We should expect miracles in our lives in return. God shall reward His faithful.
Convention and Special Meetings are the same as the large, extended sermons we read of in the Gospels. Such wonderful places to be renewed, refreshed, strengthened. A place for the decrease in self and the increase for God. A place to renew fellowship with friends which we see only at convention yet seem to be as neighbors, kin, family. A place of peace, love and harmony that only the Holy Spirit could inspire.
And in two days more we leave. Back to the world with it's cold friendships and selfishness and struggles for something fleeting.
My daughter said this afternoon, "Daddy, I wish we could live at Convention." All I could truthfully tell her was that someday we will live at a place like Convention.
My daughter turns seven next Friday and today, her 6th Convention she asked a friend to sit with her. Fellowship in the guise of friendship at Convention. Such a wonderfully subtle way to begin your walk with Jesus!
I could rattle on for a while and I will continue this with more posts as I make some sense of my homemade shorthand and spend the next two days with the Lord and His people.
Peace in Him,
Richard
