I just read Nathan's idea on the Standing True email list and began to work on this board about 1 hour ago. When I began this thread I saw that two had already registered and three guests were on line!
Great!
I hope to be an invisible administrator. Not one who is not here when I am needed or wanted but one who does not neglect the duties to enforce the tenets of this board.
I would this board be for edifying posting between professing persons and those who have left or have questions concerning this way of following Christ some call the Truth, or 2by2's. All questions are invited and all are welcome to answer as they see fit under the Forum Guidelines.
I will delete any and all posts containing unfounded accusations. I will delete any and all posts containing profane language or juvenile attempts at fooling the decency program by the use of "creative spelling" or spacing of letters to fool the program.
I would prefer that all would register but if you must post anonymously then please refrain from inciting statements. They will be deleted.
While first and foremost this forum is for the Professing people of the Standing True email list and all in the Truth, it is also a place where all Christians can come to meet and discuss and express in edifying ways their personal Faith, Beliefs, Stories and Trials in Christ for others to read and ponder.
May we all be willing to meet here in the Spirit and name of Jesus Christ.
Peace in Him,
Richard

Thank you Richard for this new forum. I hope the correspondence here can be kept at a high level, unlike the message board that was shut down a few weeks ago. That message board became a joke with some posting juvenile comments appealing to the lowest common denominator. It will be nice to be encouraged by our brethren. We all have questions about our faith and fellowship and it is nice to get input from around the world.
Thanks again,
Truth Seeker

To Standingtrue readers, I am deeply with remorse to inform that our dear friend Richard McFarland has passed away recently. Here is one of his last emails to me and one from his sister. Jan 6, 2008 Hi Nathan, My daughter just turned 7 in October. Maybe some day our children can meet, fall in love, get married, raise us up some very Christ like grandchildren... Well you know that you never know what may happen on this earth! I have met so many good professing people from around the country and around the world because of the StandingTrue List and the Boards. It's frightening to realize that there are so many who not only refuse to see and understand but actively fight against Christ in the truth. I am not one to judge those who believe in Jesus sacrifice but for those who must make it their duty to interfere with others is beyond me. I have enough problems with Satan and his vicious attacks without him using others. We have overcome Nathan and if we continue to Stand True there is nothing can separate us from our Savior and Brother Jesus Christ. He will bring us to His Holy Father. I hope the coming year is a good year for you and your family. I still have a few more rough months ahead. I was in the hospital for 9 days. Your friend, Richard (Rick) M. ~~~ Hi Nathan, Thanks, for writing back. I don't see why there would be a problem with giving a message to your message board about Richard's passing. All of the Friends in his area and much of Tx must already know. And of course the workers have been informed. Richard (Rick) was doing better after his stay in the hospital, but his potassium level dropped too low due to his diabetes and it stopped his heart. He began recovering very well from that but the doctor had run a wire through his femoral artery to monitor his heart and when they took it out it tore the artery in his pelvis region. The nurses realized what happened several days afterward and he was rushed into surgery to repair the artery. He came out of surgery fine, the doctor said it was successful and he was stable but the next day his blood pressure just kept dropping and by 6 PM his eyes were fixed and dilated, no brain activity. He was on life support for a few more hours, they called his time of death at 8:30 PM Jan, 16th. His funeral is Wed, Jan 23rd at 1:30 PM. I'm not sure which funeral home, I think it would be Cook/Walden but my dad didn't tell me all the details yet. I know the Standing True discussion board was something he was proud to have been a part of, and I thank you for being there for him during his last trials in this life. His entire life was struggle and misery but he remained faithful to God and Jesus through it all. Rick is Home now and all worldly pain is gone. With love, Rick's sister ~~~ To my dear friend, Richard... I am so happy that God has called you home to enjoy the eternal fellowship throughout eternity with Him and His people forevermore. (Revelation 21:3,4) God will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself! shall be with them, and be their God. He shall wipe away all tears from their eyes, and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pains: for the former things are passed away.
And He that sat upon the throne said, "Behold, I make all things new, and he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.Please, pray for us struggling souls down here that we'll continue to be True to God, to our callings, and to glorify God's name unto the end.

May I offer my sincere condolences to Richard's family, and loved ones, concerning his passing away. My heart goes out to all of you, even though we have never met. Richard was a very kind, considerate, caring, Christian man. Thank you for his contribution to this site and my spiritual life. My heart is heavy with the knowledge of Richard's passing. Although he was only known to me through this list, I believe that we serve the same Lord. Nathan, I appreciate the scripture you quoted from Revalation about "the former things passing away" with Richards arrival to meet his Maker. That verse was spoken on in meeting this morning. Well, there is nothing more that I can think to add. A friend, Bryan

I am so sorry to hear of this tragic passing of our friend.
As usual I am at a complete loss for words but filled with emotions beyond belief.
Knowing Richard was not my privilege, but so thankful our paths have crossed in this venue. I hope this meeting place can continue to be available, and a legacy can be left to his honor.

Thanks, Joe and to all of his friends who have shared words of comfort to his family and young daughter. His sister is reading this message board so she will be pleased to know that many people appreciate his Love for the Truth in Jesus.
We will keep Richard's Standingtrue message board legacy to continue on in his honor and love for the Truth and Way of Jesus.
~~~Nathan, I am really sorry to hear this. Its quite a shock to me, I didn't know Richard very well, only through here and the board. I just can't believe he has passed away. Pass on my condolences to the family. Kind Regards Phillip
~~~ Nathan! I am so very sorry to hear that Richard has passed away. It was such a shock to me and a feeling of sorrow and yet I've never met him. We know he is in such a better place, but certainly feel for his precious little daughter, now without her daddy. Thanks for letting us know. A friend through His love, Silverlady, from Canada
~~~ Heaven just got so much sweeter because Richard has gone home to be with the One who loved his soul. Richard was such a helpful man in his messages on the Standing True Message board...he will really be missed. With joy and sorrow and love; Pam
~~~ There was a story about two brothers whose lives went in opposite directions. The younger one broke the hearts of his parents by his godless lifestyle. He became a bitter cynic and died at a young age. Few people mourned his passing.
The other brother believed on Jesus as a child, and raised a lovely family. He had a far more satisfying life. When he died in his 80's, he was mourned by his family and friends.
But a skeptic might say, " The godly man is just as dead as his brother. So what!"
The apostle Paul, for example, while facing immiment execution, could speak of joyously looking forward the day when he would meet Jesus and receive from him, "the crown of righteousness." This reward is RESERVED for "All who have loved His appearing." (II Timothy 4:6-8)
As Christians, we don't have to face death with the perspective of the godless. We can do so with joy!
While some view death as ending all, The Word of God does not agree Eternal pain awaits the fool; Unending joy the wise will see.
Author unknown
~~~ Those who are prepared to DIE for Jesus are prepared to live with Him forevermore.
Message from Eternity:
*MESSAGES FROM ETERNITY*
I noticed the wording of Ezekiel 32:21, “the strong among the mighty shall speak to him out of the midst of Sheol.”(RV) When the rich man in Luke 16 was in the realm of the dead he was desperate to get a message to his five brothers who were still on the earth. I wondered what different ones would want to tell us if they got a chance.
*Samson* would probably say “Be careful of women!”
*Saul* might say “Watch out for jealousy and presumptuousness.”
Perhaps *Abel* would say “Keep on doing what is right, even if you are despised for it.”
*Cain* would say “Be extra careful of your attitude toward your brother.”
*Judas* might say “Watch out for the love of money. It will bring you to the place where it will be harder for you to enter heaven than it will be for a camel to go through the eye of a needle.
*Herod* (who was eaten by worms) would say “Fear the praise of men.”
*Ananias* and *Sapphira* would likely say “Don’t pretend to be what you are not.”
And likely that *rich* *man* in Luke 16 would be trying to tell us “Don’t live as if you are going to be here forever.”
*Lot’s* *wife* would say “Oh struggling soul press onward and keep the goal in view.”
*Jeptha* would remind us “You have opened your mouth to the Lord; you cannot now go back.”
*Samuel*would say “Whatever you do, don’t neglect to teach your children to love God and to fear Him.”
*Hezekiah* would say “Put your house in order; the call of death may come unexpectedly…and when it does come, remember, God knows best. How I wish I had just been willing to go when the call came!”
The *disobedient* *prophet* would urgently warn us “Be careful of a new doctrine…even if it comes from a servant of God whom you have been trusting!”
Both *Joseph* and *David* would encourage us to “Just leave it in God’s hands…His mill grinds slowly, but it grinds exceedingly fine.”
*Job* is saying “It’s not because God is against you. He is just refining the gold.”
*Noah* says “Keep at it…your labour will not be in vain.”
*Belshazzar* says, "You are still too light…I am speaking from bitter experience. Only the measure of the Spirit of Christ that has been worked into you will have any weight.”
The *five* *foolish* *virgins* are admonishing “Your lamps may look all right, but what is in your vessels? It’s the part of your life that only you and God know that is going to be the problem.”
*Achan* says “There is nothing hid that will not be revealed. What is hidden in your tent?”
*Naboth* says “This heritage of Truth has been handed down to you at a terrible cost; defend it with your life. Don’t let the standard drop.”
*Joab* no doubt would say “Conquering all the king’s enemies won’t help you if you are not conquering self.”
*Martha* would say “Seek the place at Jesus’ feet and spend time there before you get too busy.”
And we are so thankful that our *Lord* *Jesus* is still saying “Forgive them, Father, for they know not what they do.”
