This board is dedicated to the Professing people who serve our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through Faith and Works as told in the New Testement of the Holy Bible. We are known by many names given by others and otherwise have had to regester under various names in various Countries for military and tax purposes. While we still claim no denominational name we often refer to ourselves amongst ourselves as The Friends, The Truth, The Way. Others refer to us as 2by2's in reference to the way in which our ministers travel to their respective fields in pairs much as Jesus sent the 12 and then the 70 during His life on earth.
Our ministers are often refered to amongst us as Servants, Workers, or Shepherds. Men are sent with men and women with women into the Work. These Workers preach and teach the Word of Jesus Christ as recorded in the King James Version of the Holy Bible. They dedicate thier entire lives in most cases to God, giving up all including a home, job, family and security for the ministry.
Our Church Meetings are most usually held in the homes of the chosen Elders around the country and around the world. We meet on Sunday morning for prayer, singing of hymns, giving of testimonies for edification of others and the sharing of the Emblems of Remembrance of the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ broken and shed on the Cross to redeem us from our sins.
We hold several 3 - 4 day conventions each year located around the world and in many languages. Most areas have a one day Special Meeting each year also so that many can come and worship and hear from invited guest Workers from other areas. Gospel meetings are held on an ongoing basis wherever the need is felt and the interest continues in hearing God's Word. Marriage, divorce and remarriage are not topics for discussion on this StandingTrue Message Board. This was a request from StandingTrue and this is how they operate their email.
I will delete any references or questions asked concerning these things in the Truth. Perhaps someday when I get the hang of what I am doing I will consider opening a board expressly for these topics. In the meantime the field is open to any who wish to tackle it. After all it is an area of much confusion and passion amongst most Christian Churches.
Favorite Words from Favorite Hymns Many of us has a favorite hymn or two we enjoy singing in Meetings or Conventions. Sometimes the words in the passages of these hymns affect our day and outlook even offering peace, strength, and courage to continue to follow Jesus' example. Share them here if you like. Please remember that some of these hymns are copyrighted and reproduction of the work in it's entirety is forbidden. We believe in making your choice to follow Jesus in a Gospel Meeting, Convention or other gathering of Friends and Workers where the call is made and the response is made before all present. We believe in Baptism by immersion only.
We are saved by Faith and not by Works, and our Faith is proven by our Works. Our salvation is permenant in Faith in Jesus unless we turn our back on Him and lose our Faith. With this any salvation can be lost.
